First off, welcome! Thank you for your interest in Off-Leash Excursions. Let’s get going!

Our day camp program is a mix of outside time (hiking trails, beaches, fields and wherever safe and enriching outdoor areas we can find!) as well as structured training at our facility.

We offer our dogs a well-rounded day where they are able to safely socialize and exercise, but also get training in, as well! Dogs come home tired and content after using their brains and bodies all day. It is the perfect pairing of physical and mental exertion!

To get started, we require everyone to come in for a 1:1 training session to ensure what we cover at day camp gets reinforced at home. From there, we may require a little bit more training to get your dog camp ready, or we may give you the "go ahead" to sign up for camp.

We encourage you to complete the form below for a day camp consult/1:1 training session to get your dog ready for our day camp program. Please read all of the details below before booking your session to ensure you understand requirements, cost, etc.

DAY TO DAY

  • Pickup is between 8 - 9:30 am

  • Our day beginning at our facility in Duxbury begins with attendance and ensuring the dogs are all checked out physically and sprayed with a pet safe insect repellent.

  • We carefully assign all of our dogs into groups that will benefit them the best from play style, the handler that will be hiking them, and blending socialization levels between dogs to help our shy dogs gain their confidence, and to encourage and let them watch healthy play between other dogs.

  • We will then split up and begin our training and hikes for the day! We make sure all dogs are properly hydrated before and after any hikes! We will try to capture our training, our hike, and a nice group shot for each handlers group.

  • We will have another full dog inspection for any insects or injury, and then we sanitize our facility before heading out to drop your dogs back home!

  • Drop off is between 2:30 - 4 pm

Day camp consists of time outside in nature, reinforcement of basic training, supervised socialization with other dogs, and rest time.

We are firm believers in canine enrichment through nature. Dogs are free to romp, swim, and sniff to their heart’s content while out hiking. We keep our packs small to ensure your dog is receiving personalized attention. Long leashes are utilized to perfect recall and e-collar training may be recommended. While on our hikes, we practice our manners! This includes recalling around distractions, sitting while other dogs and people walk by, and practicing our “stay!”

WHAT SETS US APART

Structured Day Camp is not a standard doggy daycare or hiking service. At Off Leash Excursions, we incorporate strategic training into your dog’s day.

While training inside, we provide a calm, clean environment where dogs can learn manners, socialize appropriately, and learn to “meditate” on our elevated cots. We also utilize our proximity to Marshfield Center and Duxbury Marketplace and go on many leashed walks throughout the day to work on our loose leash skills, environmental exposure, and socialization.

In order to enroll in our day camp you must have worked with one of our trainers in at least one-on-one training session. Day camp is $65 per day, with a pickup from your home between 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM and a drop off between 2:30 - 4:30 PM. There is a two day per week minimum attendance policy to ensure pack stability, and we may recommend more days based on your dog’s needs.

Please note: Day camp at Off-Leash Excursions is not a replacement for training, but serves as a supplement, as it includes enrichment, mental stimulation, and exercise. We choose the dogs who get to join this program and our decisions are based on the dog’s behavior and the humans commitment to training them.
