MEET THE TEAM!

About me:

I grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts with several golden retrievers. When I moved to Boulder, Colorado to attend CU Boulder for my undergrad, saying goodbye to my pups was the hardest part of leaving home! I started Off-Leash Excursions in the summer of 2014 while I was living in Boston’s North End after college. Getting city dogs out of the city and into nature was simply transformative for the dogs, and we had a lot of fun!

I began incorporating basic obedience into my hikes to make them more challenging and mentally stimulating for the dogs, and that’s where my introduction to dog training began. I have worked with my dogs Santo and Ransom in protection sports, as well as scent training and basic obedience.

When I’m not running the business, you can find me spending time outside with my husband John and my daughter, Blake!

Please contact us for more information on how to get your pup living the Off-Leash life!

I’m Meredith Storrs, the founder and owner of Off-Leash Excursions.

PACK HIKERS AND TRAINERS

Hi! My name is Kailen Arena-Walls, and I grew up and currently live in Hull. I have been working with dogs since 2016, after a high-school internship at a dog daycare. In 2016 I got my dog Lanka with the intention of participating in dog sports. As I learned how to train my own dog, I began my education in dog training. We have dabbled in protection sports, scent work, agility, and competition obedience.
In 2020 my career shift to dog training began. With a huge rise of under socialized COVID puppies I started my own puppy training program. It was a huge success and I had the opportunity to help so many new dog owners through that difficult time. To this day I absolutely love training young dogs and puppies.
In 2021 I began hiking dogs. I took the skills I had leaned from training and applied them to the dogs I was hiking. I love being outside rain or shine so it seemed like a natural fit. I started at Off-Leash in September of 2022 and love that I am able to blend my skillsets of hiking and training to create a safe fulfilling experience for the dogs in my care. It’s truly the best of both worlds.
It’s my goal to always continue to educate myself and expand my toolbox to help bring the best out of every dog that comes to me.

Howdy, My name is Kyle Walker. I grew up in Hyannis, and moved to New Hampshire before high school. I served 6 years in the Army as a Military Police Officer.

I found myself back in Massachusetts pursuing a firefighting career after getting out of the Army. When Meredith offered me a job, I drove down to the South Shore and immediately fell in love with the topography. I do professional photography which I make any portraits of Off Leash dogs available online on my website, available through my instagram above. I help around the facility with hiking as well as the web and graphic design side.

I love any black labs but my absolute favorite breed are dachshunds!

Hello Off-Leash Excursionists! My name is Jessica McKim and I grew up in Whitman, Massachusetts! I found myself in the dog world first at a daycare in high-school, and while I absolutely loved working with dogs, I was not crazy about the indoor environment and wanted to see what more there was to offer.

After meeting an employee on a hike and finding out about Off-Leash I was determined to join what seemed to be exactly what I had been looking for. Compared to any other work I’ve done before, being outdoors, exploring, training and getting to know each dog and build that relationship has been so wonderful and refreshing to be a part of.

I love taking dogs to 2 Mile Farm in Marshfield, and Williams Preserve in Duxbury! I love any doodles and shepherds, because of their loyalty and loving nature! If you see me around say hello, and I’m excited to share my time with your dog!

Hey there, my name is Jesse McLeod! I grew up in Marshfield and graduated from Westfield State University this year in business management.

I got into the dog hiking world by first walking dogs on the side while attending UMASS Boston. Once I transferred schools and moved closer to home during covid, I knew I wanted to continue working with dogs because even as much as I love people, dogs just always seem to understand and love me and I feel that same energy back!

Nothing beats getting to work and knowing that two of the things I enjoy the most, dogs and hiking in nature, are going to be waiting for me every day which keeps me coming back for more! I love taking field trips to Bay Farm Field in Duxbury and John Little Reservation in Marshfield. I look forward to getting to hang out and work with your dogs!

Hello guys! My name is Jeff Woodruff, and I live here in Duxbury! I graduated Rollins College and majored in economics. After I moved home from Los Angeles in 2020, I had heard that Meredith was looking for help and was excited at the aspect of being back in nature and enjoying the beauty of where I grew up again.

Being lucky enough to work with people who are caring, compassionate and motivated, who also function just as well working together as we do on our own hiking is wonderful and to see how that reflects directly onto the dogs is such a positive experience to be a part of. Watching the process of a dog who might be scared of their own shadow, to then see them climbing over logs and playing and running with other dogs with a giant smile on their face, is magical to me.

The endless amount of places to go locally has let me explore so many spots from Wompatuck to the historical trails around the south shore I never would’ve gone otherwise! I always grew up with 3-4 Golden Retrievers in the house at a time, which will always hold a soft spot in my heart, but my favorite has to be Australian Shepherds and Border Collies since they definitely keep me active as possible! Thank you for the opportunity to spend time with your dogs!

Hi there! My name is Olivia Kailher, and I grew up in Marshfield and I’m currently living in Plymouth! I graduated from UMASS this year in Speech, language and hearing science! I’ve always had a soft spot for teaching, usually with children, but I absolutely love dogs, so when Jesse, who I’ve been friends with for over 10 years, reached out to me about Off-Leash I was immediately on board!

I love how we keep our days structured, as opposed to mindless playing til exhaustion all day, we try to balance between play and training and engagement and rest to give the dogs the best experience possible each day.

One of my favorite hiking spots is Pudding Hill in Marshfield, it’s just so beautiful and the dogs absolutely love going there, and another is definitely Bay Farm in Duxbury, going from a wide open field and letting the dogs end their hike splashing around in the water. I have the biggest soft spot for labs, having one of my own, and can’t wait to meet many many more!
